1965 Vintage Vogue Doll-Love Me Linda-Large Painted Eyes-Vinyl & Plastic I measured her at 16 inches, she is described in my Vogue doll book as 15 ", doll with large painted eyes with heavy lids, long rooted hair, straight styles. Fully jointed also sold under the name of Pretty as a Picture in Sears and Montgomery Ward catalogs. Marks- VOGUE DOLLS C 1965. The idea for her came from paintings of the big-eyed children with a tear in their eye, by artist Margaret Keane. Love me Linda is also a copy of Loney Lisa, a Royal Doll, according to a Former Vogue Employee. Most came with thigh-high white socks and shoes. She has blonde rooted hair: I did not find any missing plugs. I don't know if her clothing is original, it has the same style as her other tagged outfits and that of the Big-Eyed Children. She could have been sold by Sears or Montgomery Wards, same doll with another name and untagged clothing. The knob on one of the shoes that the strap fits over has been restored. It was broken off when I originally got her. The shoe was not damaged, so I ran a needle through it with a heavy crochet thread, made a large French knot, then when back through the same hole and secure it on the other side. I soaked the knot in fabric glue and let it dry, so that it made a secure knob for the strap to fit over and it works fine. I have shown this in my photos. Her clothing is cotton, closures are snaps, she has long stockings and matching shoes to her vintage factory-made dress of brick red with tan trim and has very good elastic.
