The Valentine Doll, Inc. company a USA manufacturer of hard plastic and vinyl dolls is best known for it's ballerina dressed dolls of the 1950s which John Landers was responsible for. Fully articulated neck, arms, elbows, waist, knees, ankles for posing ballerina moves. Included is doll + original clothes 2 slippers 2 hose 1 panties 1 dress 1 boa Slippers- Sole is marked: CAPEZIO Since 1887 DANCERS COBBLER-they have black markings on the rubber at the very tip of her slippers. The right eye doesn’t open and close in sync with the other. It isn’t stuck. It just moves less smoothly. There are no markings on the doll. There’s no condition issues. She must have been treasured by its owner then stored safely away. There is no box. She’s clean of blemishes. Her clothing is in remarkable condition. It is all original. There is one break in the feather on her dress. This is one of the taller dolls. Most were 16” Valentine dolls were sold from catalogs or at Sears in the 1950’s-60’s *Straight from a 1956 advertisement description- “ BALLERINA DOLL “Unbreakable plastic body with vinyl head and arms. Rooted SARAN hair. Jointed ankles and knees, jointed at waist, permits doll to be placed in many ballet positions. Dances on her toes in ballerina slippers.
