I’m proud of how far this beauty has come! I have loved and collected American Girl since the late 80’s and I’m excited for the opportunity to find dolls in need of a refresh and offering them a new home!
This is GOTY #2, Miss Kailey Hopkins! Circa 2003, this California girl has blonde hair with a highlight/sun streaked look. She has brown eyes and straight brows.
She comes dressed in her wetsuit and has a few extras that I will include too! She has been thoroughly cleaned and looked over. I did restring her with high quality cord since her limbs were very loose. I was able to remove many spots and blemishes on her vinyl, but there a few small flaws that remain- please review photos carefully for best representation of her condition at present. She has been played with and enjoyed and has a great future ahead! I will note specific condition issues below:
- Her cloth body has multiple pin poke style holes as shown in photos. There are a few in front as well as back. I’m unsure what caused them as I found her this way- they don’t impact her function and they aren’t deep enough to cause her stuffing to escape or anything- there just isn’t a ton I can do to change them, so I’m just noting that they are there :)
- there is one darker spot on her leg that did not come off. See photo, please. It’s on the back of one leg and isn’t large- but worth noting as it does show.
- there are light abrasions and dings/marks on Kailey…she was played with plenty! Nothing deep or crazy- I’ve done a lot to restore the majority of it…but there are always more to be found, somehow.
- her wetsuit has multiple fine snags from Velcro pulls of other items she was stored with previously. See photos :)
- I’m including her swimsuit bottoms and part of her snorkel set as free bonus items. I don’t have the top, sadly- and the goggles come without the rest of that set…just consider them fun extras for her and you!
- I’ve restyled her hair similar to her original ‘do- but it’s not original. Her wig is thin in some areas (see photos) and while there are short hairs here and there I don’t really see evidence of cut or damage.
She will be shipped carefully packaged in a box from a smoke-free home. Thank you for looking!
