Antique Wooden Handmade One of a Kind Dollhouse.
Family heirloom. Acquired by my grandfather in NYC in the 1940’s. According to family members it was already quite old and he did a bit of work on it. I know he built the spindled staircase and put glass in the windows and added the widow’s walk. Not sure what else. I would estimate the house is from the early 1900s.
The house has been well stored for the past 80 years we’ve had it. Windows are glass and all intact. Doors are all hinged. Layout is just like a real TOC house with doors between all rooms and hallways. Living, Dining, kitchen with pantry downstairs; two beds and bath upstairs.
Several years ago I started to restore the house to my taste but I no longer have the time or desire to do so. The house has been completely painted but all of the other changes I started can be easily undone. The popsicle floors are attached to card stock. The crown molding and trim is attached with wood glue. The door “knobs” original to the house were just thumbtacks and removed during painting. I no longer have them.
Dimensions are 18” x 36”. Neither the roof nor the back are removable. Front and side panels by the kitchen and bath are removable.
Local pickup is OK. Please note I am in Saratoga in UPSTATE NEW YORK, not California. If this is to be shipped, It will be in a big crate and I’d time to figure out logistics and price. Shipping within US only and will be paid by buyer.
