Antique German Kestner 19" Bisque Head Doll marked H. This lovely doll is in great condition. She has recently been restrung by a professional antique doll doctor (good to go for another 50 years). When I acquired her she had no wig and no clothes. She has been redressed. Some of her clothes are antique and some items vintage
. She is wearing a nice deep navy-blue long dress with purple ribbon and white trim, under slip, and pantaloons, socks and shoes with a nice-feathered hat. Her wig is nice and curly but not human hair.
Doll made of bisque head and composition body. She is jointed at the wrist, elbows, shoulders, knees and hips, and head turns. All her fingers and toes are accounted for (small chip on one finger).
She has lovely brown glass sleep eyes that work well. open mouth with four teeth, dimple chin, and feathered eyebrows.
Back of her head she is incised "Made in Germany H 12". Kester marked dolls with numbers sometimes instead of initials. Not sure of the year manufactured, but estimate early 1900's.
