Unusual and charming 20" original Averill "Baby Georgene' composition baby doll signed/marked on back of neck. Top of line from Madame Hendren Averill toy company, adorable face with dimpled chin and lovely blue/hazel pinwheel eyes, circa 1920's to 1930's.
Minor crazing on face, rosey blush hands, knees, cheeks all intact and original!
She's wearing vintage hand-made christening gown, slip and cap with pink satin bows; some age yellowing light stains. Mohair strawberry-blonde wig is flattened after nearly 100 years of being kept under the cap.
Vintage shoes and socks are very good to excellent condition; we did not attempt to remove.
Beautiful big baby doll, delightful addition to your collection. Please look closely at photos for details.
