One of the few Norah Wellings dolls that doesn't have a scary face.
Could this little guy represent the Dutch storybook/ or fairy tale character 'The Boy Who Wanted More Cheese' ?.
Circa 1930's.
Hand painted face.
This adorable doll has the sweetest expression making it hard to let him go to another home.
He's even got dimples in his cheeks xx.
His head is made of buckram moulded over plastic wood, overlaid with steamed wool felt then hand painted, and lastly having a waterproof coating over his head/face to protect.
Orange/kiwi green and black.
Mother of pearl buttons down his black silk velvet jacket.
His arms are still stitched to his hips, unlike most of the dolls who's hands were set free.
Articulated head so you can turn his glance slightly to the right or left.
His green hat, scarf and patches are made of wool felt, some moth nibbles on the edge of the knee patch and a little hole too.
His orange trousers probably silk velvet, also have a little surface hole on the back thigh.
Smoke free home.
Please enlarge all my photos as they're an integral silent player in my dolls' description.
Thanks for looking!
