Lovely lady with very unusual painted gilt snood. German china doll attributed to Hertwig. Splendid all original clothing with russet colored calico dress with star motif. Undergarments with red feather stitch embroidery and doll's name, Emma, embroidered on the waistband of the petticoat. She also wears an antique glass bead necklace and stands approximately 21" tall. Has delicate face painting with expression. Circa 1890s
Both arms have firing flaws inherent to the manufacturing process - they were always like that. Additionally has a firing fleck above her right eyebrow. Her left leg has been reglued at ankle in the past. Head and right leg and arms perfect without damage. Original body recovered for stability.
