Felix The Cat All Composition 13” Doll With Jointed Arms Cameo Doll

BUY IT NOW. SALE ITEMS CAN BE COMBINED TO SAVE ON SHIPPING. THE ITEM DESCRIPTION: The Felix The Cat doll is all composition(except for the tail) & stands 13” tall. Felix has jointed arms but no other moving parts. Construction of the Felix is very similar to the 13” Bonzo that I have for sale on eBay. Both are all composition & 13” tall. Both have posable arms connected by springs rather than elastic. Both have unique tails. The overall posing is nearly identical with both standing upright on firmly planted 2 feet. Both achieved peak popularity around the same time – 1924. Based on these similarities I am attributing the Felix the Cat 13” composition figure to the Cameo Doll Co. & the company founder/ chief designer Joseph Kallus. There are some differences. Bonzo has a movable head & wears a dog collar. Felix has a paper label with his name on his chest & a Pat Sullivan copyright sticker on the underside of the figure dated 1922-24. Felix has a good chest name sticker but only a small fragment remains of the sticker on the underside of his feet. Bonzo had no identifying stickers. Felix was far more popular in the US than Bonzo which would explain why the 13” composition figure of Felix is much more common than Bonzo. The condition of the Felix doll is outstanding. The white eyes appear to have been repainted but it must have been years ago. The edges of the ears have had some paint touch up. The thick pipe cleaner type tail is a replacement but it is identical to the original & no one, not even an expert, can tell the difference.
