BEEHIVE DOLLS HAND KNIT DOLL CLOTHES TOYS 1951 PATTERN BOOK 146 1st ED EFFANBEE This Beehive book of knitting patterns is 32 pages long, printed for the first time in August 1951. Called Toys to Treasure, Beehive yarns from Great Britain were imported and sold by Royal Society Inc. at their store on Fifth Avenue in New York. All the dolls pictured and doll clothes patterns in this booklet are for Effanbee dolls. All pages are included, though a few have separated from the stapled binding. Former owner used tape in a few places. Although I don’t knit, I find this booklet fascinating to read and the photos of the 21 Patons & Baldwins projects are so detailed! It’s hard to imagine anyone nowadays taking the time and effort to use imported yarns and create doll clothes and toys of the colorful quality shown in these pages.
