I am a doll sculptor and artist . My fondness for the Native American Culture lead me to create this doll. In researching the dolls from the 1800's I came up with this rendition a Plains Indian doll.
She is stuffed with real buffalo hair as many dolls were from that time period. Her hair is real horse hair. Her hand beaded soft leather dress is designed just like the dresses the Plains Indian women wore. She is wearing a beaded knife sheath on her beaded belt. Her braided hair is adorn with pieces of real rabbit fur. I made her 2 necklaces from vintage beads. She wears beaded earrings.
This doll has a beaded face much like many were made in the past. She is 13 & 1/4 inches tall.
I tried very hard to make her true to the way they were very long ago.
