This is the Lovely GIA, A KARITO KIDS DOLL, 2007 by KidsGive. New in box, with metal stand included as a bonus. Karito means Love and Charity in Esperanto. Gia is one of the original 5 dolls in the line, which was very short lived. Gia is 21 inches tall, with dark brown straight hair, wearing an orange head band. There is a net around her hair that starts at the band. Her eyes are a gold/green/ amber color. She has the medium complexion of Mediterranean Italians. She is a well made doll. Her head, arms and legs are vinyl, and her torso is 1/3 vinyl and 2/3 100% cotton, filled with polyester stuffing. Gia considers herself to be a fashionista, and a budding fashion designer. She is well dressed in a stylish green jacket, with light green sweater underneath. She is wearing a ruffled orange skirt and very cool boots. She is supposed to be 11 years old, so she is a pre-teen. Gia comes with a full length, hard cover, adventure mystery book, titled Florence Fiasco. It includes a scrapbook of Italy. The Karito Kids were featured in Oprah's 'O' magazine in August, 2007. "Karito Kids highlight the beauty of each ethnic group and depict modern-day life in each country and culture, showing you the similarities shared by kids around the world." A fun find for any Doll Collector! Bellissima!
