This is a beautiful Madame Alexander Marie Antoinette doll, #2248. This is the 21 inch doll from the portrait series.
I purchased her through a collection of mostly unopened dolls. She came to me in a plastic bag with a box that looked like it had been fairly recently retaped. Upon opening the tape, I found her snug in the box with original packaging, her wrist tag and her head still wrapped in plastic. It's entirely possible the previous owner took her out, and put her back neatly, but I decided not to remove her any further. So my gut says likely new in box. If there are any flaws that are hidden by the packaging, I haven't examined close enough to see them.
The box itself does show some wear. The tissue paper shows some tears. The box shows some significant crunching on the sides, but I can't see that it's impacted anything inside. Minor surface level tearing where it had been retaped.
Short of a sealed box, based on what I see this is going to be as close as you come to mostly untouched.
Shipping note: Yes, it does cost this much to ship it. This is nearly an 8 lb box with dimensions of 25x18x10. USPS is currently my only way of ensuring next day mailing and their rates balloon with bigger size dimensions.
