The Nauga was a fictional creature created for an advertising campaign to promote the faux leather material Naugahyde, as trademarked in 1936. The Nauga, was a campaign developed by Louis and Kurt Weirs “ in 1960 for the Uniroyal Pleather company that displayed the vast variety of colors and finishes and claimed that the Nauga Monster was able to shed its skin (Naugahyde) without harming itself thus the material was produced with no consequence to the cute Nauga. Origina early production examples are scarce, as most Naugas were given as gifts to customers. Here you find an original Nauga Monster with its pointy teethed grin, outstretched arms and short legs.
