Rare Antique German Gebruder Heubach 9355 Dolly Dimples 16” Bisque Head Orig Kid Body.
She has the Heubach square mark incised - you can see in photo. This doll is an antique, not a reproduction doll. Please be aware that this is a Gebruder Heubach doll not a Heubach Koppelsdorf doll. They were 2 different companies and antique Gebruder Heubach character dolls are much more highly prized by collectors.
Just the cutest sweetest little Dolly Dimples I’ve ever possessed. I’ve been lucky enough to find several Dolly Dimples by Gebruder Heubach over the years ( almost 3/4 of a century I’ve been collecting) even though they are relatively rare but this one has had me wrapped around her finger for many decades, so adorable is she with her 2 front teeth, deep pair of dimples - one in each cheek - and a very pretty and even complexion painting as well as beautifully hand done feature painting. She never neglects to put an answering smile on my face to see that dimpled grin on hers!
She is on her original rivet jointed ne plus ultra kid body (signs of a label on its front May have said Dolly Dimple or Sunny Kid once upon a time) that over the last more than hundred years has had her upper arms covered over with white kid leather. Her left lower arm and hand have chips and wear and after numerous decades I looked closely andI think this arm, though original is papier-mâché and the other, that has a chipped thumb is bisque.
Her bisque head is beautiful and has No cracks, no hairlines, no repairs, no restoration. She has long ago remnants of her old wig that is stubborn to be removed, so I’ve left the bits and she wears a very vintage or antique mohair wig that is from the 1940s or earlier. Her clothing consists of her possibly original blue checkered dress, with lace at the sleeves and a matching jabot at the neck. She has woolen flannel petticoat and bloomers that have matching woolen embroidery at the hems, replaced more modern socks and replaced modern high boots. Adorable!
Give yourself the possibility of smiles everyday, when she’s right by you, so happy to see you she’s smiling that infectious grin!
All clothing has minor wear. Some repairs may have been made to the clothing over the years, since her clothing is antique. Please bear this in mind. There may be small repairs, minor pin holes, wear nips in the fabric, etc. I have not laundered the fabrics ( if I did it was around half a century ago and I no longer remember!
