Vintage Cloth and Composition "The Judy Girl" Doll.
This is an unusual rag doll with a composition Patsy type face. Marked "The Judy Girl". Estimated circa 1920's-1930's.
Doll has blue painted eyes, an open rosebud mouth and molded hair. She has short composition arms on a square-shaped cloth body filled with straw. She is 19" long and sits 12.5" tall. She wears a blue and white romper with lace trim and a matching hat.
Sold as found - Please see pics. Her composition head and arms have imperfections and look somewhat primitive. Not sure if this is as the result of early manufacturing or of a poor restoration? Paint finish shows minimal crazing and no peeling. Her cloth body is in good shape, except for a small tear on left arm. There is a light stain on the back of her left leg and a small paint stain on her left shoulder. Her clothes are in nice condition with no stains and no tears. There is no odor I could detect.
