Vintage Bonomi Italian 20” Doll In Original Clothes-Eyes

This vintage doll was made in Italy by Bonomi Doll Company in the 1960-70s. She is made of hard plastic and stands nearly 20 inches tall. She has a short brown wig, blue plastic eyes and factory painted nails. She is wearing her original clothes and shoes. The dress needs the bottom snap reattached. This doll originally came with “flirty” eyes. When I found her, her eyes rolled back in her head and would not stay in position. I took her to my doll repair professional, but she didn’t know how to fix them. She had never worked on a Bonomi and said their eye mechanisms are different than others. After many months of trying, I begged her to just reattach the eyes in a stationary position. This is the result. It looks like the eyes were covered in glue or something because they now have a rough texture. And she literally attached false eyelashes above her eyes instead of positioning the eyes with their original lashes on the outside. I don’t know what to say about her “repair” job, other than she does have her original eyes- they have just been doctored. If you know a professional who specializes in Bonomi dolls, you could have them reset her eyes and the residue should come off. She has a few scuffs here and there- one small spot on her face, and the fingertips of one hand are scuffed. Otherwise, she is in good condition. She can stand independently and hold a pose as shown.
