We offer for your consideration this Vintage Rosko Charlie Weaver Toy. This toy was produced in Japan in the early 1960s, Rosko was most active importing toys to the US around the late 1950 through to the late 1960s, then they stopped. This "Charlie Weaver" Bartender toy was an homage to a character created by the actor Cliff Arquette. Mr Arquette had a television show featuring the Charlie Weaver character that first aired on ABC Sept 30th 1959. later in his career Cliff Arquette was a long time featured player, as his Charlie Weaver character, on the Hollywood Squares game show. This Charlie Weaver Bartender toy is in decent condition for 58 or so years. It comes in the original packaging which although a tiny bit faded and showing some slight water spots, is still in Good condition. There is some tearing at the top end of the box (see pictures) We have not tested the toy, so we do not know if it works as advertised on the box. As for the toy itself, there has been some oxidation of the brass frames of the eyeglasses which has stained the area around the eyes and ears green, this could be cleaned up and removed and perhaps the plastic could be painted to hide any remaining stains. The painted tin bar and base are in excellent condition. The dolls clothing are in good condition, but there looks to be some wear on the felt of the hat. The battery compartment is in 'Like New" condition, there is no corrosion or rust present. If you are a collector of animatronic toys, after a small bit of facial restoration, this would be a very nice addition to any collection
