Vogue 1964 POSY PIXI Baby Doll Soft Pastel Yellow Tutu 18" SO SWEET

DESCRIPTION: I SELL ONLY WITHIN THE U.S.  NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING OFFERED. I’m offering today an adorable Vogue baby doll called "Posy Pixi" which was made in 1964.  These dolls used to be quite readily found, but they have become quite difficult to find over these few years in good condition.  She is a larger doll standing approximately 18" tall.  She is jointed at the neck, but her arms and legs are on a metal armature which runs through her original foam body.  This metal armature allows her limbs to bend and move in any direction you so desire.  Her foam body has darkened over the years, but it is still in nice condition.  These bodies do darken over time, so that should be expected.  She has her original straight rooted dark brown hair. I will start at the top of her head and work my way down so as not to omit anything in my description.  Starting at the top of her head, she has dark brown rooted hair, which is cut into a baby bob and frames her face beautifully.  Her hair was washed and styled prior to getting her ready for listing.  She is wearing a precious handmade custom made hair band, which matches her original two piece pastel yellow pajama set.  I took yellow elastic ribbon and cut it to fit the dolls head perfectly.  I then took wide pastel yellow satin ribbon and made a large bow.  I then hand stitched the bow to the top of the elastic hairband, which allows the bow to stand nice and upright on the dolls head.  By hand making these doll hair bands, you don't have to worry about them falling off and getting lost.  It takes lots of time to create these hair bows for each doll, but I really want their new mommy's to be proud of their new dolly. As you go down to her face, she has single brown line for eyebrows.  She has black side glancing sleep eyes.  There is one eye, which does try to stick every now and then.  She has meticulously hand painted eyelashes on each corner of her side glancing eyes along with her original eyelashes on top of her eyelids.  Her eyes are most precious with such a whimsical look to them.  She has a dainty petite nose with open nostrils for realism which flows down to her precious watermelon shape lips.  Her lips are painted a peachy/pink color and have such a sweet look to them.  Her chubby baby cheeks have beautiful coloring, which really enhances those big dark eyes she has.  The back of her neck is simply hallmarked:  "1964, Vogue". When Posy Pixi came to me, she was in really sad shape.  Her two piece pajama set was quite dirty and I wasn't sure I was going to be able to use it.  I try to use these original clothes for Posy Pixi because they are so difficult to find in the pastel yellow color.  Having said that, I remove the pajamas and soaked them for days.  I was able to remove most of the dirt, but there were a few tiny stains I wasn't able to get out.  I really was worried about the pastel yellow color, but it turned out very nicely.  The bottom of her pajamas have "Posy Pixie" in baby blue with little baby blue flowers .  There are snaps around the waistline of the pajama bottoms, but several of the snaps are gone.  There are enough snaps to keep the pajamas in place.  I added white lace around the neckline of the pajamas and the long sleeves of the pajama top.  Then to top it all off, I found this beautiful and very full pastel yellow tutu to go over her pajamas.  I tied a large pastel yellow satin bow and attached it to the front of the tutu.  Around each footie of her pajama footy's, are pastel yellow satin bows.  With her dark hair, she looks simply adorable. My dolls are not played with by children who come and visit; I know that sounds mean, but sometimes they play too rough.  My dolls are kept in a doll room specifically for them and are displayed for everyone to enjoy.  All my dolls are truly loved and cared for as though they were my children.  Their clothes are either original to the doll, made by me, or I've tried finding doll clothing from the same era as the doll or find clothing which match the personality of the doll.  We do not smoke and I try very hard to keep a tidy clean home free of dust and odor.  My dolls are clean and most of the time look as though they did when they were sold new.  Depending on how old they are, I do try to be honest in detailing if some of the dolls have bruises, missing toes or fingers or other issues, but that doesn't mean they aren't worth having; for each one is like children.....they are all beautiful in their mothers eyes.  If I've missed something it would never be intentional. SIZE: This vintage Vogue "Posy Pixi" baby doll is a larger doll measuring approximately 18" tall. CONDITION: This doll is Vintage, but in what I would consider good condition.  Her foam body remains in good condition with some darkening from time.  The metal armature bends easily for posing in different positions.   Her hair has been washed and sanitized. Her eyes do open and close, but one of them wants to stick every now and then.  This is quite normal for these older dolls.  She has all her fingers and toes.  Her vintage pastel yellow pajama set has been laundered and sanitized prior to my listing her.  There are a few tiny stains which I could not get removed.  They are under her tutu.  The photos really tell the story about this doll.  She is a beautiful doll and one of a kind.  Please view complete set of photos for thorough description.  I hope you can take a few minutes to look at my other dolls.  God bless you.  Connie
