Quite rare tagged original Madame Hendren doll dress for your doll! I imagine Madame Hendren dresses in such nice condition are almost impossible to find. The nicely colored tag reads: Madame Hendren Dolls Everyone Loves Them. This dress measures 12 inches from the shoulder seams to the hem with an approximate 16” circumference around the chest, so I imagine it was most likely designed for a doll measuring approximately 20 inch tall. Get out your measuring tape and check to see if this will fit your doll. I was not able to find information about which Madame Hendren doll wore this dress, but maybe it was for the adorable Baby Georgene (circa 1930) who measures 23” tall (see the book: Anderton, Johana Gast, More Twentieth Century Dolls, Volumn 1 A-H, pp. 604-605, Avril-28, 1983. If you have a good idea of who wore this dress, please message me. The dress is clean with no weird odors and as far as I can tell, it does not have any unfortunate issues. For a doll dress that is approaching antique status (100 years) or has already done so, I think you will agree, this little dress is, without a doubt, in exceptionally nice condition. The dress fabric is an off white 100% cotton, probably much like it was as new, and although I have gently washed and ironed it, it has not been bleached or starched. The fabric appears very sound. The tag is still amazingly brightly colored. This dress is clean and ready to wear with a little touch up of your iron, as needed.
