Antique Gottschalk Store Room Box Mercantile. Sweet details! Wonderful antique store with lots of authentic antique and vintage German boxes, bottles and other merchandise! Antique ornate scale, and a wonderful set of milch bottles! 18 wooden drawers with tiny knobs have metal labels in German. 3 of the knobs have just nails- the dark material is missing. Beautiful mahogany stained fruitwood furnishings retain the black hand painted decorative designs Gottschalk is known for. Gilt accents. The 2 golden balls on the pediments are my addition and just sit there. They are not glued on. I thought they complemented the original balls on the top of the backside. The decoration there is moveable to adorn either the top of the main drawer unit, or the top of the box itself so you can showcase more merchandise. See the pictures without the props The floor is brown parquet but is very faded, the wallpaper is also faded and stained. As it is, it is all original. Dolls shown are for comparison only.
